GAITHERSBURG, MD, February 12, 2009 – Fusion UV recently supported a hands-on seminar hosted by Cytec at Chemsultants International’s facility in Mentor, OH. The day-long seminar included presentations on the pressure sensitive adhesive market, economics of UV PSAs, industrial applications, and an environmental, health and safety overview. Cytec demonstrated their new GELVA® UV-curable PSA which is 100% solid and designed initially for high performance transfer tape applications – a direct replacement for current solvent PSAs.
Fusion UV worked with Cytec and Chemsultants to install three rows, each with two F600S curing systems to cure the new Cytec GMR8020-02 hot melt adhesive during live demonstrations. Chemsultants International’s ChemInstruments division manufactures a full line of PSA testing equipment. This enabled participants to test the cured GMR8020-02 samples onsite.
