GAITHERSBURG, MD, October 1, 2009 – Fusion UV Systems, a leading worldwide provider of industrial UV curing systems, has appointed John Guarniere to the position of Market Support Manager for the optical fiber curing market. John will be responsible for supporting Fusion’s existing customer base and for growing Fusion’s worldwide presence in the industry. According to David Harbourne, President of Fusion UV Systems, “the creation of this position will allow us to better address the needs and concerns of our clients in the resurgent optical fiber market.”
John Guarniere has been an employee of Fusion UV Systems since 2006. In his role as Applications Engineer, John was responsible for meeting the application needs of existing and potential customers in Fusion’s diverse portfolio of markets. However, the bulk of John Guarniere’s engineering experience is in the optical fiber industry. John spent eight years at Litespec Optical Fiber, where his responsibilities included drawing technology transfer between production sites and a drawing facility expansion. At Ciena, John worked on the erbium-doped fiber design and production team to address the company’s demand for EDF amplifiers. And at Baker Hughes, his efforts were focused on the development of an optical fiber for oil and gas downhole sensors. John Guarniere holds a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering from Rutgers University.
